How a breakup led to a dream trip to Cuba!
On a beautiful day in May, a good friend of mine text and told me she’d just experienced a breakup. After I asked her if she was good, she informed me that they’d planned a trip to Havana, Cuba, and to my surprise she still wanted to go. She said if I wanted to roll, the invitation was open. It took me no time to scream, “Let’s dip“! If I would’ve missed out, I would’ve been stupid like them heauxs! But how lucky was I? Like legit getting invited on a trip that was already arranged and all I had to do was give my share of the mula! She sent over an itinerary which included a day trip to Varadero, and a trip by bus to Viñales! I was already bucked up, but when I saw pictures of the beach (I’m a beach bum) in Varadero I knew I for sure couldn’t pass on this oppurtunity!
Cuba is a beautiful Caribbean island that boasts of rich culture, history, and natural beauty. It is a country that has undergone significant changes in recent years, making it an exciting destination for travelers seeking an authentic experience. From the colorful streets of Havana to the serene beaches of Varadero, Cuba has something to offer for everyone. In this blog post, we will take a look at some of the highlights of my trip to Cuba.
Getting There
The best way to get to Cuba is by plane. There are several airlines that fly to Havana, the capital city, from major cities around the world. The most popular airlines are Air Canada, American Airlines, Delta, and JetBlue. Once you arrive in Havana, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to your hotel.
Accommodation
Cuba has a wide range of accommodation options for travelers, from luxury hotels to budget-friendly hostels. The most popular areas to stay in Havana are Old Havana and Vedado. We would actually be staying in a quaint one bedroom Airbnb not far from Old Havana (I’m so excited to see it has WIFI now, because finding internet cards was the struggle). We would have just enough space to lay our heads, as we’d planned to be out and about the WHOLE time! The days weren’t moving fast enough! But this honestly was the most excited I’ve ever been about a breakup. I should probably thank her lol.
Can’t wait to tell you about Old Havana and our day trips!
